Abstract
1- This study aims at evaluating the translation products of ChatGPT OpenAI, Google Gemini tools verses human translation tools in translating colloquial Libyan-Arabic cultural expressions. The study focuses on examining the accuracy of the above automated translations tools Vis a Vis Human Translation in translating cultural expressions. The researcher adopts a combination methodology of research (qualitative and quantitative). The objective is to find out whether Human Translation is the preferable tool in translating cultural issues. The findings determine that the above automated translation tools cannot deal with the colloquial Libyan-Arabic cultural expressions accurately, however, Human Translation achieves more accurate renditions, comparing to the automated tools ChatGPT OpenAI, and Google Gemini. Some recommendations are suggested for further researches to integrate both human translations with automated translation systems in professional and educational contexts to select the most appropriate rendition and to encourage trainee translators to critically evaluate machine-generated output and recognize its strength and limitations.
