Abstract This study aims to explore the impact of the physical work environment (design of stations and the work site - the use of tools and tools - handling mechanisms and work surfaces - office 277 | African Journal of Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (AJASHSS) furniture and internal arrangement) on the performance of workers in research centers, the study has adopted the method of descriptive analytical approach in identifying variables, and conducting a field study to find the relationship between those variables A questionnaire was developed that dealt with the elements of the physical environment, which included measuring the quality of design, equipment efficiency, suitability of work surfaces and furniture comfort, and the performance of Employees through a set of indicators including productivity, level of concentration and effectiveness of performance. The results showed through statistical analysis that there is a statistically significant impact between the different components of the physical work environment and the performance of workers in research centers, as the physical work environment has a positive and direct impact on the performance of research centers through (design of stations and work site, use of equipment, handling mechanisms and work surfaces, office furniture) The value of the coefficient of determination for each of them was recorded (52.3%, 61.6%, 59.6%, 48.6%) respectively, so the study recommends paying attention to the work environment significantly and according
