Abstract

Helmholtz resonator has been used in industry for a long time to reduce the noise from different machinery. Numerous investigations have been carried out to determine its properties. This paper is connected with theoretical and experimental investigation of the resonance frequency of Helmholtz resonator with neck having constant cross-section. The analytical results are based on the classical model and other two modified models that take some factors into consideration. The results show that from the modified model by Li's match favorably with the experimental results. Some explanations for the discrepancies are given and also some remarks are presented.
