Abstract
Structural mapping, along with identifying hydrothermal alteration is useful for mineral resources exploration. In this study, satellite image data and aeromagnetic data were applied for structural and alteration mapping in the Chipanga area, central Tanzania. The structural mapping was done by extracting lineaments from the visible and the near infrared composites of the Landsat-8 Operational Imager (OLI) overlain on shaded relief maps extracted from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data.
