Abstract
Executive Summary Mortality data play a fundamental role in measuring planning and monitoring public health outcomes. Complete registration of deaths involves not only capturing death but also the describing details of the cause of death. The lack of data on the causes of death represent the most significant gap in many low- and middle-income countries. Civil registration system in Libya is well developed with recognised legislations and advanced changes have recently developed in registrations and data capture with 100% birth registration and death registration of more than 95%.
