Abstract
A two years old Great Dane bitch was referred to the surgery department of veterinary medicine, El-fateh University, Tripoli, Libya for examination of remarkable uniform non edematous thickening of fore and hind limbs of the long bones. The animal was recumbent, with stiff joints and extended limbs. Radiological, gross and histopathological findings have strongly suggested hypertrophic osteopathy. The main lesions were in the shaft of long bones which showed thickened periosteum with subperiosteal new bone formation. No pulmonary lesions were detected.
