Abstract
This study investigated the difficulties that sixth semester students at Janzour College Faculty of Education English Department face in oral presentation and find out the factors behind these difficulties. This study used quantitative approach by using questionnaire. The participants of the study were 18 sixth semester students. After collecting the data from the participants, the data were analysed by using statistical method which is “percentage”. The results of the study showed that the major causes of students’ difficulties in oral presentation are poor pronunciation, feeling anxious, feeling embarrassed, lack of self-confidence, low fluency, fear of making mistakes, thinking in Arabic and translating, difficulty in organising the idea of presentation, fear of negative evaluation, avoiding the instructor’s eyes, fear of students’ reactions, and fear of being laughed at. The study concluded with some recommendations for teachers, students, and further studies.
