Abstract
This study is conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using Telegram in enhancing students' vocabulary storage and highlight students' perceptions towards online vocabulary learning via the use of Telegram at Faculty of Education Janzour/English Language Department. Quantitative method was used. The participants of this study consisted of 20 students who were taking Vocabulary development 1 courses. In order to analyse the data from the questionnaire, percentages were used. Manual analysis of the pre-test and post-test data involved counting the right and wrong answers. The results of the study showed that Telegram can be employed to raise students' vocabulary knowledge. The students' responds showed positivity towards the use of Telegram application, which has some significant advantages, few challenges, and has gained the attention of most of them. The use of social media, such as the Telegram application, as a teaching tool when teaching English is appropriate and successful. Their academic performance and vocabulary acquisition progress when they use Telegram. Telegram offers flexibility and time saving for vocabulary learning. Through Telegram, the students and the teacher can simply communicate. The study recommended that teachers should implement social media as an educational tool in teaching English vocabulary. In fact, applications like Telegram can save time, encourage students to participate, and make the teaching process smoother.
