Abstract

Thepurposeofthisresearchwastoexploretheimpactofusingsocialmediainthe educationalprocessonenhancinglearnerautonomyinhighereducationforEnglishlanguagestudents.SinceSocialmediaismainlyusedsocially,thisresearchhadanenquiryofdiscoveringtheeffectofusingitacademicallyaswelltomeasureitsfeasibilityinachievingtheaiminmind.ThisstudywasimplementedonstudentsofGrammaticalStructures2atthefacultyofeducation-Janzour.Thereafter,aFacebookgrouphasbeenintegratedintotheircourseforapproximately2months.Thedatawascollectedthroughtests,aninterviewandaquestionnaire.Ultimately,theuseofFacebookforeducationalpurposesdevelopedchancesforstudentstocollaborateandinteractmoreandmostofallitreflectedpositivelyonenhancingtheautonomousroleofstudents
