Abstract

JK presented as a case of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). During the Libyan revolution, a rocket hit her uncle’s car. Her uncle and two of her cousins died instantly. Since the incident, she started experiencing severe anxiety and shortness of breath. . She was diagnosed as a case of hyperventilation syndrome and was on the sedative-anxiolytic valium. J. K. start to be lazy, not doing her home work, going to school is not a pleasant time, in school lost her concentration . Treatment Summary In line with Mueller, Martina January (2010) and David Westbrook, and others (2011) treatment included the following five elements: a) a collaborative formulation used to socialise and teach the model; b) guided discovery to challenge and reappraise automatic thinking; c) I educated her regarding her condition( Hyperventilation). d) testing out thoughts (through behavioural experiments) and gradually learning to drop safety behaviours.
