Overview

This course is concerned with introducing the student to the basic principles of general botany, the anatomical structure of the main plant organs, while tracking the suitability of the structure with the function and environmental adaptations.

Intended learning outcomes

Explains the importance of biology and enumerates the branches of botany and distinguishes between them and their importance

Describe the plant cell and its organelles, and identify and name the scientific terms related to the topics of specialization

List the stages of different cell divisions

Differentiate between the different tissues that make up the plant

Draw the phenotypical shape of the plant and the changes in its various organs, and identify the physiological processes that occur within the plant

Through lectures using the water-based board and pen to present the main elements of the lesson and write definitions and illustrations

Using the computer and the digital display screen to display the lecture, illustrations, and graphs that are not available in the department's laboratories

Applying laboratory experiments to some lessons, according to the available capabilities

E-learning is resorted to in the presence of circumstances that necessitate it

The student is assigned a simple test at the beginning of each lecture to encourage him to update the information
