Overview

Due to the tremendous scientific progress in the field of physical education and sports sciences in the world, the need for the physiology course has made this important science, which is concerned with the changes associated with sports activity. There have been many researches and studies in this science, which have shown that the science of sports physiology is a vital science and is associated with several sciences, so it must be studied, understood and paid attention to it ever. This science is also considered one of the important courses in the Department of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy because of its association with other related sciences such as traumatology, anatomy, biomechanics and biochemistry.

The course works to provide the student with basic knowledge and concepts about the physiology of sports in the sports field in terms of: its concept - its importance - physiological and health effects and providing the student with the skill of tests and measurement and knowledge of laboratory devices and tools as well as dealing with the work of those laboratory tests within the laboratories and how to work those physiological tests. And qualifying the student to know the work of the muscles and organs of the body correctly and to know the impact of sports activity on those muscles and vital organs of the human body, as well as overcoming the obstacles facing the athlete in his daily life.

Intended learning outcomes

The physiology course aims to prepare qualified cadres of physiotherapists and medical escorts for sports clubs qualified to work in various fields of rehabilitation and qualify them to return to their full motor and functional capacity through various means of rehabilitation through accurate diagnosis and then provide the best appropriate treatment methods.

Teaching and learning methods

The course is presented to the student through theoretical and practical lectures and panel discussions with brainstorming, in addition to field visits to the college laboratory to increase the understanding and scientific achievement of students.
