Overview

In recent years, the need for specialization in rehabilitation and physiotherapy has increased in order to increase the number of illnesses that affect individuals as a result of accidents, diseases, and sports injuries. There is no doubt that the tremendous scientific progress that has taken place in this field in the world has made the need for a course of physiotherapy methods (electrotherapy) and its practice is a necessity in our country. This is because the increasing cases of diseases, injuries, and disabilities negatively affect the individual and the family, and this is ultimately reflected in society. Rehabilitation and physical therapy require sufficient time so that the injured person can achieve the highest degree of self-reliance

. • Provide the student with basic knowledge and concepts about electrotherapy methods in terms of: its concept - nature - methods of use - contraindications for its use - methods of application to patients and injured - its physiological and health effects - and standardized treatment methods for all diseases and injuries that need electrical treatment methods.

• Provide the student with the skill of dealing with receiving patients and injured and how to deal with them in hospitals and others in terms of the skill of using electrotherapy of various types and methods of applying it to patients and injured in rehabilitation and physiotherapy centers and in hospitals, departments, and intensive care.

• Electrotherapy course, in all its divisions, qualifies students to treat cases of sports injuries and diseases, motor disability resulting from sports injuries or disease, and poor motor skills, helping the patient to restore daily and functional activities and overcome the obstacles that the patient and the injured face in daily life.

Intended learning outcomes

The electrotherapy course aims to prepare national cadres of physiotherapists and medical escorts for sports clubs, hospitals, sanatoriums and clinics qualified to work in various fields of rehabilitation and qualify them to return to their full motor and functional potential through various means of rehabilitation through accurate diagnosis and evaluation as well as setting the treatment plan and the method of implementing the appropriate treatment And follow-up treatment sessions and then provide the best appropriate treatment methods

Teaching and learning methods

The course is presented to the student through theoretical and practical lectures and panel discussions through research and working papers with brainstorming in addition to external field visits to hospitals, private clinics, and physiotherapy centers for practical application to increase understanding and scientific achievement of students
