Concept
of oxidation and reduction - Calculation of oxidation number for elements and
compounds - Oxidizing agents and reducing agents - Redox reactions - Weight of
equations in redox reactions - Single electrode potential - Ideal electrodes -
Inert electrodes - Redox titrations - Precipitation reactions - Precipitation
stability and constant calculation Ionic dissociation - Calculation of the
solubility constant - Le Chatelier's rule - Law of mass action - Metal
precipitation - Chlorine ion calibrations by several methods
Intended learning outcomes
After
completing the course, the student will be able to identify oxidation and
reduction reactions from others. He will also be able to identify the oxidizing
agent and the reducing agent in the reactions, in addition to his ability to
calculate the oxidation number and weigh equations. It can also calculate the
concentration of chlorine using sedimentation calibrations in more than one way
Teaching and learning methods
Theoretical lectures using the blackboard and data show - exercises and solving problems.
Methods of assessments
The first midterm exam - the second midterm exam - the final exam
