The course of analytical chemistry 1 is one of the compulsory courses for students in the chemistry program. To
study this course, the student must pass the course of general chemistry 2.
The course is concerned with defining analytical chemistry as a branch of chemistry and its role in various
scientific fields such as agricultural, medical and industrial, and in monitoring chemical pollution., etc. The
student gets to know the basic concepts and terminology in analytical chemistry, as well as the statistical
treatment of the results obtained.
Intended learning outcomes
After passing this course, the student will have learned the basics of analytical chemistry and its importance in all
fields, as well as the statistical treatment of results or readings of measurements

Methods of assessments
The total score is divided as follow
30% for written semi final exams
10% for home works, quiz
60% for the final exam
