This course aims to study the physical,
chemical and magnetic properties of transition elements, as well as studying
the rules for naming chemical complexes, preparation methods, stereochemistry
and crystal field theory.
Intended learning outcomes
After studying this course, the student
will be able to identify the difference between the transitional and
non-transitional elements in the periodic table through different properties.
The student will also be able to name the chemical complexes correctly, and he
will be able to explain the phenomenon of colors in the compounds of the
transitional elements and calculate the crystal field stabilization energy for
d1 to d8 systems.
Teaching and learning methods
Theoretical lectures using the blackboard and data show - exercises and solving problems.
Methods of assessments
The first midterm exam - the second midterm exam - the final exam
