The objective of the nuclear chemistry
course is to study the phenomenon of radioactivity of chemical elements and to
study the laws that govern this phenomenon and its various types. It also aims
to study nuclear emissions such as the emission of alpha and beta particles,
gamma rays, electron capture, and the balance of equations for natural and
industrial nuclear reactions. , and calculating the energy of nuclear bonding
of nuclear particles, nuclear reactor technology, nuclear energy production,
fission reactions and nuclear fusion
Intended learning outcomes
After studying this course, the student
will be able to distinguish between chemical reactions and nuclear reactions,
and be able to weigh different nuclear equations. He will also be able to
describe nuclear technology, its purposes, and some of its applications, and
distinguish between fission and nuclear fusion reactions.
Teaching and learning methods
Theoretical lectures using the blackboard and data show - exercises and solving problems.
Methods of assessments
The first midterm exam - the second midterm exam - the final exam
