Overview

This course covers the following main headings, which are the uses of the computer - its types - the binary digital system - the physical components of the computer - types of software - computer networks - the basics of the Internet - computer crimes and data security and protection.

Intended learning outcomes

1. At the end of the course the student be able to:

2. Recognize data types, binary system, and computer speed and capacity measurement units.

3. Describe the hardware components and purpose of the computer.

4. Explain software types and programming languages.

5. Identify the components of computer networks and connection methods.

6. Identify crimes related to information security.

7. Analyze computers according to different standards programmes.

8. Interpret the differences between input and output devices.

9. Connect different storage devices.

10. Detect different types of software.

11. Classify networks according to different standards.

12. Choose the hardware or software that suits their needs.

13. Use the Internet more efficiently and more secure.

14. The computer is used for various purposes.

15. Apply his knowledge in the use of different storage devices.

16. He employs his knowledge to protect himself and his family from cybercrime.

17. The student should be able to understand computer specifications related to the physical components of speed, capacity, etc.

18. The student should be able to recognize the software and its purpose and choose what suits his or her needs.

19. The student should be able to use modern technology in research and study.

20. For the student to be able to self-learn and to learn continuously.

21. Student is able to use creative and critical thinking and solve problems.
