Overview

This course presents the study of the basic concepts of plane geometry: the definition of the mathematical concept, knowledge of some elementary engineering concepts, the definition of flat shapes and polygons, as well as the study of the basic concepts of quadrilateral shapes and their relationship to each other, the basic concepts of triangles, the basic concepts of a circle, and the study of the area of flat shapes.

Intended learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:Defining elementary engineering concepts such as line, line segment, and ray, and knowing the difference between them.Definition of angle and how to measure it.Distinguish between quadrilaterals and the ability to define them and know their properties.Know the basic concepts of a circle and how to find its circumference in an inductive way.Finding the area of flat shapes in an inductive way to reach the known laws.

Methods of assessments

30% first midterm exam.Assignments, as well as the creation of teaching aids by 10%.End-of-semester exam with a score of 60%.
