The objective
of the course is to provide the student with a variety of suitable materials
for developing writing. The most important aim is to introduce the process of
writing and specifically to train the students to use the prewriting
techniques. Then students are introduced to the sentence to help them to
identify its parts and types.
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this course students should be able to:
1. Help students feel more confident while writing in English.
2. Develop strategies for writing different types of sentences.
3. Develop useful skills by using the prewriting techniques.
4. Improve their writing by exploring different sentence structure, Punctuation and spelling rules.
5. Combine an introduction to basic paragraph structure with an emphasis onpersonal writing.
Teaching and learning methods
The lecturer uses a variety of teaching methods. For example, the teacher gives classroom discussions, the use of collaborative learning by working in groups. The lecturer tries to make the class learner-centred by the use of different activities and tasks.
Methods of assessments
First mid-term: 20 marks.
Second mid-term: 20 marks.
Final examination: 60 marks.
