EPSY 312 : Educational and psychological texts and terms

Overview

The course aims to provide the student teacher with psychological terms in English by identifying, exploring and using them through texts and excerpts in English with the skill of using dictionaries and translating some parts in different topics of psychology fields such as:

General psychology. Pedagogy. Psychometrics and educational evaluation. Personality and its theories. Motivation, mental processes, providing the student with the correct pronunciation of the educational and psychological term. Translating educational and psychological texts from Arabic to English and vice versa.

Intended learning outcomes

1. The student should translate some words. and psychological terms in English.

2. The student should use some educational and psychological terms in useful sentences.

3. The student must translate a text on one of the psychology issues in English into Arabic

4. The student should translate educational and psychological texts from Arabic to English

5. The student should use dictionaries and search for word sources

6. The student should analyze a specific psychological topic in English.

7. The student should read a psychological text in English and extract educational and psychological terms from it.

8. The student should formulate a text on one of the psychology issues in English

9. The student extracts terms from a psychoeducational text and translates them into English

10. The student should employ dictionaries in extracting the meanings of words

11. The student should design a visual presentation of some words and psychological terms in English.

12. The student should write a printed list of some educational and psychological terms.

13. The student should formulate an electronic text on one of the psychology issues in English into Arabic

14. The student should translate an educational and psychological article from Arabic to English

15. The student should use dictionaries and search for word sources

16. Acquire the skills of using the library and employing paper and electronic dictionaries

17. The student should be able to work in a team

18. Ability to self-learning and continuous

19. The student should be able to operate and use the computer effectively
