Overview

This course is designed to achieve the general objectives in the form of outputs that the student is supposed to acquire after successfully completing the course, as follows:

1. Introducing students to the basic principles of petroleum geology and subsurface geology.

2. Introducing students to modern oil extraction methods.

3. Introducing students to the basic stages of oil and gas formation.

4. Learn how to evaluate oil exploration activities and the basics of mapping oil reservoirs below the surface.

Intended learning outcomes

By passing this course, the student is supposed to be familiar with the following practical and professional skills: 1. Enable the student to identify and classify geological and geophysical information and data in the field of oil and gas 2. Teaching the student to link the available information to determine the locations of oil and gas 3.. Teaching the student to link Between the available information to increase the efficiency of oil resources 4. Enabling the student to diagnose the causes of success and failure in oil exploration operations and methods of testing promising production areas

Methods of assessments

Assessment is carried out through theoretical exams, practical examinations, assignments and writing scientific reports.
