This course is designed to achieve the general objectives in the form of outputs that the student is supposed to acquire after successfully completing the course, as follows:A study of the emergence and development of the African continent and the Mediterranean basin.· Studying the tectonic movements affecting the emergence of local sedimentary basins.· Studying the relationship between tectonics and the diversity of stratigraphic sequences vertically and horizontally in the Libyan sedimentary basins.Accumulations of hydrocarbons, water and economic minerals and their relationship to stratification in Libya.
Intended learning outcomes
By passing this course, it is assumed that the student has learned the basic facts and information related to the geology of Libya and is familiar with the following practical and professional skills: 1. Carries out applied field studies, supervises them and/or follows them up and analyzes their information. 2, Acquires the skills of using stratigraphy in the study and analysis of sedimentary basins. 3. Analyzes data and represents it in graphic sectors, compares and interprets them. 4. Uses general interpretations of tectonic theory in understanding the rock record.
