Overview

Carbonate grains, mineralogy, cement types, geochemistry and geobiology. Carbonate depositional environments and their response to sea-level changes. Field study of carbonate sequences.

Intended learning outcomes

By passing this course, the student is supposed to be familiar with the following practical and professional skills:1. Plans and supervises field studies and geological mapping of carbonaceous rocks.2. Analyzes field data and laboratory study to derive the sedimentation environment.3.Analyzes data to derive sea level oscillation.4. Plans, executes and supervises laboratory studies.
