Overview

Advanced field methods applied to large-scale geologically complex area including independent mapping, quantitative analysis of 3-dimensional field data and report writing by the student.

Intended learning outcomes

This course is designed to achieve the general objectives in the form of outputs that the student is supposed to acquire after successfully completing the course, as follows:
  1. The student uses electronic equipment to record and retrieve information.
  2. Implements scientific methodology in field work.
  3. Three-dimensional representation is used to represent synthetic data.
  4. Analyzes and interprets field data and infers the geological history of the region.

Teaching and learning methods

The course is taught according to the following methods and methods: Lectures, Laboratory activities, Collecting field information, Panel discussions.

Methods of assessments

Evaluation is done through theoretical exams, practical exams, study assignments, and writing scientific reports.

The course is implemented through a geological camp for two weeks, at a rate of 12 hours of field work per day (daytime) and a night lecture for (2) hours per day.
