Overview

This course is designed to achieve the general objectives in the form of outputs that the student is supposed to acquire after successfully completing the course, as follows:Provide comprehensive education in field geology on the basis of research excellence under the supervision of a group of distinguished professors and with the help of technicians, laboratories, as well as field facilities and tools.Enable students to understand the foundations, theories and field methods in the field of geology.Training students to record field information using modern electronic technologies.Writing geological reports.

Intended learning outcomes

By passing this course, the student is supposed to be familiar with the following practical and professional skills: 1. The ability to draw maps and geological shapes according to field observations 2. Develop the skill of obtaining geological information through field measurements 3. The ability to differentiate between different rock facies 4. The student should be able to Conducting scientific research and writing a full-fledged geological report

Methods of assessments

Evaluation is done through theoretical exams, practical exams, study assignments, and writing scientific reports.

The course is implemented through a geological camp for two weeks, at a rate of 12 hours of field work per day (daytime) and a night lecture for (2) hours per day.
