Overview

This course introduces students to the geomorphological processes that contributed to the formation of land forms, such as erosion and weathering. Also understanding the symmetrical relationship between geological forms and internal tectonic movements. In addition to describing the land forms in terms of geology; especially Libyan lands. Moreover, utilizing of geomorphological studies in natural resources exploration and address natural hazards.

Intended learning outcomes

Outcomes of the course:

• Recognize and analyze geomorphological processes.

• Study landforms.

• Geological mapping projects.

• Relationship between surface geological forms and subsurface structures.

In terms of acquiring skills, the student who passed this course should have developed his communication abilities, writing (written exam), and interpersonal communication (working in groups and making an oral presentation). Familiarity of the student with the stages and cycles of geological landforms, geological formations, and geological phenomena. Also, learn the application of modern technologies such as computer programs in the study and follow-up of landforms and their relationship to natural disasters.
