Overview

The course aims to introduce students to the concepts and terminology of the Holy Qur’an Sciences course, to clarify the opinions of scholars on the issues of the Holy Qur’an sciences, to explain how the Holy Qur’an was revealed, its compilation, its order and stages of writing, to distinguish between the Meccan Qur’an suras and the Madani Qur’an suras, and to mention the reciters and recitations spread in the Islamic world and their narrators.

Intended learning outcomes

 The student should define the revelation linguistically and idiomatically

 To explain to the student how the Holy Qur’an was revealed and the stages of its collection

 The student should mention the benefits of knowing the reasons for revelation, Makkah and Madani from the Qur’an

 The student should explain the opinions of scholars about the arrangement and division of the surahs and verses of the Holy Qur’an

 The student should list the famous reciters and recitations in the Islamic world

 The student should distinguish between the compilation of the Qur’an with both Abu Bakr and Uthman, may God be pleased with them

 The student should differentiate between what is meant by the seven letters and the readings

 That the student discusses the doctrines of scholars in adherence to the Qur’anic drawing
