Overview

This course is concerned with the study of experiments related to sound, light and electricity, where practical experiments are conducted to measure the speed of sound in the air, the use of the sonometer, the experiments of reflection and refraction of light in different media, the study of the images formation in mirrors and lenses, the realization of Ohm's law practically and finding an unknown resistance value, analyzing the process of charging and discharging the capacitor through a resistance.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Recognizes the wave nature of sound and light.

2. Illustrates the phenomena of light reflection and refraction in different media.

3. Determines practically the focal length of mirrors and lenses.

4. Defines the characteristics of images formed in mirrors and lenses and practically verifies them.

5. Verifies practically Ohm's law and determines the value of an unknown resistance.

6. Determines the specific resistance of a conductive wire.

7. Uses the Wheatstone bridge to find an unknown resistance value.

8. Uses tools and apparatuses correctly while working in the laboratory.

9. Acquire the necessary skills to write scientific reports.

10. Works in a team and analyzes the results of laboratory experiments.
