Comprehension is a fundamental goal of listening, and there is cognitive comprehension that is based on familiarity with knowledge and facts and has levels:
Remembering: It is based on memorizing linguistic material, and the central memory activity is the most important in comprehension
Understanding: It is a higher degree than remembering, and its goal is to hear and understand the linguistic material. Understanding is a distinct mental activity based on recognizing facts.
Application: It is characterized by the skill of transforming cognitive concepts into practical practice at the theoretical level
Analysis: Distinctive comprehension involves a special depth of understanding of the audio material and the ability to classify its parts according to a special approach
Synthesis: It is based on exploiting new facts derived from analyzing the audible linguistic material into new formations of a different qualitative nature
Evaluation: It is the pinnacle of the cognitive assimilation process. Because it includes a reasoned judgment supported by evidence
