Overview

This course deals with one of the levels of linguistic analysis, which is “acoustic”, through which the student studies the concept of sound units. It includes listening skills, the relationship between sound and the linear unit that represents it, identifying individual, syntactic, and functional sound phenomena, describing the basic units, and secondary units of linguistic sound, and studying The phenomena of stress and intonation.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the 14th week, the student should be able to:
  • Discover the phenomenon of influence and mutual influence between adjacent sounds.
  • To solve the verbal problems that prevent him from communicating properly with the target group
