The Important Factors Affecting The Libyan Agricultural Production The main objective of this study is to investigate the development of the Libyan agricultural sector and its main components and the determination of both relative share of the agricultural subsectors which constitute the Libyan agricultural production, and the most important economic factors affecting the Libyan agricultural production during the period (1980-2005). The results of the study indicate that there is a significant increase in the annual rate of the agricultural production and its main components namely plant, animal, woods and fish. The sharing percentage of the plant ,animal, wood and fish activities were 71.15%, 28.36%, 0.1% and 0.39% respectively of the agricultural production through the period of the study. Also the results of the study indicate that the most important variables affecting the Libyan agricultural production were the irrigated area and the agricultural machine. consequently, it is recommended to carry out several empirical and economic studies to determine adequate basic needs of modern mechanical and irrigation methods to perform various agricultural operations for all agricultural activities
