Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a description of the diminutive formation in Libyan Arabic. This aspect of morphology, to my knowledge, has not been studied in Libyan Arabic, in particular. Moreover, in the modern literature of linguistics there are not many studies regarding the diminutive formation in modern Arabic varieties in general. Regarding Classical Arabic, however, there are many studies about the phonology as well as the morphology of Arabic including diminutive formation, both in classical and modern Arabic Linguistic literature.
