Abstract
The southern Mediterranean region is more severely impacted by climate change than other parts of the world and is suffering as a result. The unstable state of the national economy in Libya is a result of climate change, which has an impact on the daily lives of Libyan citizens. Daily temperature and precipitation data from the ECMWF-ERA5 were collected between 1981 and 2022 and are known as AgERA5 for the purpose of evaluating climate change in Libya. The findings indicate that the number of heat waves in (Tripoli, Benghazi, Sabha, Kufra, Ghat, and Jaghbub) is almost equal to (4, 4, 3, 1, 3, and 4 events) in 2021. In 2018, the Sabha held seven HWN events, which was the most. In particular, as this decade comes to a close, HWN is expanding more quickly. Following the early 2011 uprising, the nation's overall 2011 greenhouse gas emissions are estimated to be 58.94 Mt CO2 eq. In comparison to the emissions in 2010 (102.09 Mt CO2 eq), this is 73% (or 43.15 Mt CO2 eq) fewer. This follows a 48% increase in emissions recorded for 2012 (87.34 Mt CO2 eq), which had a substantial impact on the thermal comfort of the population. Due to Libya's long coastlines that overlook the Mediterranean Sea, whitening marine clouds is a suggested method for dispersing sea water mist and producing stratocumulus clouds that reflect a small portion of the sun's rays back into space in order to counteract the effects of human-caused global warming.
