Abstract
The doctrine of the Seal of the Sainthood (walāya), is established by al-Ḥakīm al-Tirmidhī in his book entitled the Seal of the Saints, and Ibn‛Arabi has followed him in this belief. This belief sprang from therelationship between Moses and Khidr in their story. It was then extendedto create the doctrine of the Seal of the Saints by comparing it with the Sealof the Prophets. Therefore, the aim of this study is to explore the usefulnessof the story of Moses and Khidr for understanding this belief, and whetherthey are in line with the aims of this Qur’ānic story?Key Words, Khidr, Sufi, Sants
