Abstract

Data were collected from complete recorders of 573 and 499 pullets' progeny during two consequence generations of light (LBW) and heavy (HBW) body weight lines of Norfa strain. Four different traits ASM, BWM , EWM , and EN42wk were used to construct the general index and three completely restricted selection indices (IR, ASM , IR, BWM and IR, ASM+BWM) in each of LBW and HBW lines. Generally, concerning to net efficiencies of the general and completely restricted selection indices during 1st and 2nd generations of LBW and HBW lines of Norfa strain, the general index was the most efficient index and was expected to cause the highest total of genetic change. On the other side, applying completely restrictions for ASM or BWM caused an obvious reduction in the net efficiencies of the completely restricted indices in relation to IG . Furthermore, applying completely mutual restrictions for ASM and BW M at the same time expected to cause the most sever reduction in the net efficiency of the index as well as the total of genetic change and the individual genetic change of EWM or EN42wk .
