Abstract
Combined between open and closed kinetic chain exercises for the rehabilitation of Patellofemoral pain syndrome Abstract: Patellofemoral pain syndrome is one of the most common problems in physically active people. The syndrome is a multi factorial disorder with different treatment modalities. Conservative treatment of the syndrome has been a critical issue in various studies. Quadriceps strengthening exercise is a recommended approach that is performed in open and closed chain kinematics exercise forms. From the experience and observation of the humble researcher, most physiotherapy centers, especially private ones, neglected this therapeutic aspect (muscle strengthening) and focused their attention on the electrotherapy aspect. The researcher discussed with a number of specialists who confirmed the weakness of interest in this aspect of physical therapy. The research aims to identify the effect of combining open and closed kinetic chain exercises in reducing the degree of pain, increasing the range of motion of the joint and increasing muscle strength. The most important statistical results were that the use of the combination of open therapeutic exercises according to the proposed program of exercises led to a real and rapid improvement in the degree of pain, locomotors and muscle strength, and the return of the patella to its normal position before injury. Keywords (open kinetic chain exercises, closed kinetic chain exercises, kinetic chain, Patellofemoral pain syndrome.
