Abstract
Tanzania is endowed with huge potential of geothermal resources which to large extent remain ubiquitously researched and known; most of them are located along the East Africa Rift System (EARS). Geologically, the Northern Divergent Volcanic province, located on the eastern arm of the East Africa Rift System is characterized by Pliocene, Pleistocene to the recent tectonic event and volcanic activity. Geothermal manifestation occurring as either hot springs, fumaroles or alterites is recorded in the region.
