Abstract
Vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs) play a significant role in vocabulary teaching .For this reason ,insufficient vocabulary knowledge of learners and the lack of VLSs awareness by the learners as well as the teachers may have their impact on teaching and learning of the language .In fact ,the use of VLSs facilitates the process of vocabulary learning and helps learners to become more motivated ,enthusiastic ,active ,self-reliant and lifelong learners of the language .However ,to the best of the researchers ’knowledge ,few studies have been conducted on the use of VLSs among students of English at the Faculty of Education-Janzour ,University of Tripoli . Consequently ,the current study aims to identify VLSs employed by 60 Libyan EFL university students ,at the Faculty of Education - Janzour , University of Tripoli, and to explore the most and the least frequent VLSs used by them
