Overview

Concepts of education - its definitions, objectives, importance, concept of philosophy of education - the relationship between philosophy and education. The concept of the philosophical origins of education. Study the philosophical origins of education. Philosophy idealism and its educational applications. Realistic philosophy and its educational applications. Pragmatic philosophy and its educational applications. Existential philosophy and its educational applications. Natural philosophy and its educational applications. Study some philosophical issues.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. The student should explain the concept of philosophy of education and the relationship between philosophy and education.

2. The student should review the importance of studying the philosophical foundations of education.

3. To explain one of the philosophies and its educational applications.

4. To explain the pragmatic, existential and natural philosophy in education.

5. That the student extracts the issue of human nature and man in Islam and the philosophy of his upbringing.

6. The student analyzes the concept of philosophy of education and the relationship between philosophy and education.

7. That the student complicates the importance of studying the philosophical foundations of education.

8. That the student distinguish between philosophies in different eras.

9. To discuss with his colleagues the natural philosophical features and their educational applications.

10. The student should analyze some philosophical issues.

11. Designing a visual presentation on the concept of philosophy of education and the relationship between philosophy and education.

12. The cognitive link between the parts of knowledge, and the logical arrangement of the philosophical ideas of education

13. The ability to include the concept of educational philosophies in different eras in a research paper.

14. To write an article comparing pragmatic, existential and natural philosophy in education.

15. That the student write a printed report on the types of issues and different educational philosophies.

16. Communicate with colleagues, discuss topics of specialization, exchange experiences and benefit from them.

17. Using the computer in preparing lessons and preparing for them.

18. Participate in research groups to collect information in the specialty.

19. Time management in practical and professional life.

20. Searching for new things in the field of specialization using specialized websites

Methods of assessments

Student assessment in this course is distributed as follows: (Semester work 40% and final 60%)

Term work: (40 marks)

divided between:First written test of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

A second written test of the type of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

Scientific activities (eg writing a report or giving a presentation) (10 marks)

Final: written exam (60 marks)
