Overview

This course:

  • Discuss the concepts and principles of social and behavior science.
  • Relate the mind-body interactions to health and disease.
  • Explain the basics of psychophysiology, that is, how psychological, behavioral, and social factors alter physiology to make diseases
  • Give example of stress management techniques. ب.
  • Relate personal values and attitudes to patient care. ب.
  • Discuss the importance of motivation, learning, thinking and language in patient care and compliance.
  • Analyze the role of intelligence and personality in the ability to participate in shared decision making

Intended learning outcomes

  • By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
  • Identify the principles of social and behavior science.
  • Recognize the role of complex mind-body interactions in health and disease.
  • Recognize the basics of psychophysiology, that is, how psychological, behavioral, and social factors alter physiology to make diseases.
  • Classify the Psychosocial stressors and discuss their impact on health.
  • Discuss the influence of personal values and attitudes in patient care.
  • Recognize the importance of motivation, learning, thinking, and language in patient care and compliance.
  • Discuss the role of intelligence and personality in ability to participate in shared decision -making
