Overview

The course aims to introduce the student to the concept of numerical analysis, to teach the student how to use numerical methods to solve mathematical problems, and to recognize the relationship between the use of numerical methods and the use of a computer for that.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student will have an understanding of the different numerical methods and the role of numerical analysis in solving mathematical problems. The student will explain the effectiveness of the different numerical methods.

Teaching and learning methods

The traditional method (explanation of the topic) and student discussion in solving exercises and programs. Creating a spirit of competition among students by solving programs individually. Self-education, problem-solving and practical lessons in the computer lab

Methods of assessments

Written test {closed book}, oral test, scientific activities (eg writing a report or making a presentation) and a practical test
