Overview

The Psychology of Play course is one of the most important educational subjects. It aims to clarify the importance of play in a child’s life from the mental, educational, linguistic, physical, cognitive and moral aspects. Through the student’s study of this course, he is able to determine the characteristics of games and their impact on integrated development and its relationship to innovation and creativity. Creativity and excellence and to employ some theories that explain play in the cognitive, emotional, social, psychological, recreational and therapeutic development of the child.

Intended learning outcomes

. Know the concepts of play in more than one perspective and its psychological characteristics and multiple functions.2. Enumerate the types of games that develop the child's mental abilities.3. To explain the importance and necessity of playing for the development of the child and its importance in treating some psychological problems (anxiety, fear, tension).4. Teaching and learning methods

Lecture supported by dialogue, effective group discussion, organized and purposeful, (cooperative education), discussion and constructive criticism with the aim of developing the research in a positive and effective way.

Methods of assessments

A first midterm exam is held in the fifth week with a percentage of 20%, a second midterm exam with a percentage of 10%, 5 research activities on a scientific topic related to the course, 5% participation and attendance of 5%, and an end-of-semester exam with a percentage of 60%.
