Overview

History of psychology. The most important sources of knowledge from which psychology and its schools are formed. What is meant by school is the independence of psychology. Getting to know the old educational schools. Contemporary trends: characteristics of modern psychology, behavioral trend, introduction, the "classical" traditional conditional model, traditional conditioning phenomena. The operational conditioning model, the phenomena of operational conditioning. Cognitive trend: an introduction, the basic elements of the cognitive trend. Psychoanalytic direction: psychoanalytic concepts, instincts. Personality structure, personality dynamics. Psychological defense mechanisms. Humanitarian Direction: Basic Concepts in Humanistic Direction

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

1. The student should explain the history of psychology, the most important sources of knowledge from which it was formed, its schools, and its independence from philosophy

2. The student should review contemporary trends and characteristics of modern psychology

.3. The student should explain the behavioral trend and its models

4. The student should explain the cognitive direction and its basic elements

5. That the student explain the point of view of the psychoanalytic trend: the concepts of psychoanalysis, instincts.

6. The student should review the components and structure of the personality, the dynamics of the personality, the mechanics of defensive tricks.

7. That the student defines the humanistic approach: basic concepts in the humanistic approach.

8. That the student analyze the history of psychology and the most important sources of knowledge from which it was formed, its schools, and its independence from philosophy

9. The student should recall contemporary trends and characteristics of modern psychology.

10. The student should deduce the behavioral trend and its classical and procedural relational theoretical models

11. The student should criticize the cognitive approach and its basic elements

12. The student analyzes the direction of psychological analysis in terms of concepts and its view of instincts.

13. The student should clarify the components and structure of the personality and the mechanism of defensive tricks

14. The student should criticize the humanitarian approach and its basic concepts.

15. Draw a conceptual map showing the most important sources of knowledge from which psychology and its schools are formed

16. To submit a printed paper reviewing the characteristics of modern psychology.

17. To design a visual presentation explaining the phenomena of procedural conditioning.

18. To write a scientific article discussing the concepts of the cognitive trend

19. To write an electronic article on the direction of psychological analysis in terms of concepts and its view of instincts

20. To write a research on defensive tricks mechanics.

21. To design an electronic article presenting the basic concepts in the humanitarian direction

22. The student should be able to solve problems and work together

23. To be able to use modern technology to access knowledge related to the specialization

24. Respect professional ethics and be responsible

Methods of assessments

Student assessment in this course is distributed as follows: (Semester work 40% and final 60%)

Term work: (40 marks)

divided between:First written test of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

A second written test of the type of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

Scientific activities (eg writing a report or giving a presentation) (10 marks)

Final: written exam (60 marks)
