EPSY 214 : Psychology of motivations and emotions

Overview

The concept of the process of motivation and motivation, and related concepts, characteristics, components, and functions of motivation, classification of types of motivation and their characteristics, how the mechanism of action of different motives, physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from the disorder of some types of motives, knowledge of the theories explaining motivation, the concept of emotions linguistically and procedurally, characteristics, components and functions agitation. Classification of types of emotions and their characteristics, physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from agitation disorder, the relationship of emotions with motivation, and mental and cognitive processes.

Intended learning outcomes

The student should be able to:
  1. 1. The student should explain in detail the concept of the motivational process, explaining its characteristics, components, functions and classifications. and its mechanism of action
  2. 2. The student should talk about the physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from the disturbance of some types of impulses
  3. 3. The student should mention the theories that explain motivation.
  4. 4. The student derives the concept of emotions, their characteristics, components and functions, and classifies the types and characteristics of emotions.
  5. 5. The student should discuss the physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from agitation disorder, and the relationship of emotions with motivation, mental and cognitive processes.
  6. 6. The student analyzes the concept of the motivational process, explaining its characteristics, components, functions, classifications and mechanism of action.
  7. 7. The student should extract the physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from the disturbance of some types of impulses
  8. 8. The student should criticize the theories that explain motivation.
  9. 9. The student should review the concept of emotions, their characteristics, components and functions, and classify the types and characteristics of emotions.
  10. 10. The student analyzes the physiological and psychological symptoms resulting from agitation disorders, and the relationship of emotions with motivation, mental and cognitive processes.
  11. 11. The student should design a visual presentation explaining the concept of the motivation process, explaining its characteristics, components, functions, classifications and mechanism of action.

Methods of assessments

Student assessment in this course is distributed as follows: (Semester work 40% and final 60%)

Term work: (40 marks)

divided between:First written test of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

A second written test of the type of objective tests or vignettes (15 marks)

Scientific activities (eg writing a report or giving a presentation) (10 marks)

Final: written exam (60 marks)
