Overview

Curriculum Development:

The concept of planning and development, its importance, reasons for planning, stages of planning. Foundations of development, planning, and change. Methods of development. Development procedures. Obstacles and how to overcome them. Development strategies. Forms and arrangement, selection of experiences and activities. Standards and specifications. Principles of good organization. Approaches of educational curricula planning and development. Requirements for successful curriculum development. Types of curriculum: Separate Subjects Curriculum. Related subjects Curriculum. Broad domain Curriculum approach. Activity based Curriculum. Projects based curriculum. Organizational practical exercises. Preparing models based on each method.


Intended learning outcomes

The student must be able to:

1. The student should know the concept of planning and the concept of development, its importance, and motives

2. The student should explain the stages of planning, foundations, methods and methods of development

3. The student should explain the development procedures and obstacles and how to overcome them.

4. The student should explain in detail the development strategies, forms and organizations, and the choice of experiences and activities.

5. The student should explain the standards, specifications and principles of good organization and entrances to planning and developing educational curricula.

6. The student should mention the requirements for successful curriculum development and types of curricula

7. The student should explain in detail the curriculum of the related subjects, the curriculum of the broad fields, the curriculum of the activity, the curriculum of the projects

8. The student should differentiate between the concept of planning and the concept of development, in terms of importance and reasons

9. The student should clarify the stages of planning, foundations, methods and methods of development .

10. The student should explain the development procedures, obstacles and how to overcome them.

11. The student should explain development strategies, forms and organizations, selection of experiences and activities.

12. The student should discuss the standards, specifications and principles of good organization and approaches to planning and developing educational curricula.

Methods of assessments

The assessment of students in this course is distributed as follows:

(Semester 40% and final 60%)

Separation work: (40 degrees) divided between:

First written test of objective or short essay style tests (15 marks)

Second written test of objective or short essay style (15 marks)

Scientific activities (e.g. writing a report or making a presentation) (10 marks)

Final: Written exam (60 marks)
