The map is one of the most important tools of
the geographer, and the understanding of the concept of general map geography
and the most important methods of searching in it. The student knows the means
of drawing maps, how to measure them, and the stages of their development. The
student also realizes through them the types of maps, the distribution of
natural and human phenomena, and how to distribute drawing scales on them
Intended learning outcomes
The student will acquire knowledge and skills after
passing this course, which is to explain the importance of maps, for the
student to get acquainted with the concept of map and its dimensions, and to
link between the theoretical and practical side in dealing with maps.
Realizing the
importance of being able to determine the appropriate drawing scale for the map
and the methods of measuring it, knowing the types of maps and their
distribution in the world, knowing the importance of being able to interpret
the map, identify its different phenomena, and explain the phenomena and ways
of representing them on the map
