Overview

The Arab world is a geopolitical term applied to a geographical area with a common history, language and culture. It extends from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Arabian Sea and the Arabian Gulf in the east. It includes all the countries that join the League of Arab States in West Asia, North Africa and East. The course explains the following concepts:

(Geographical location, area, geological structure, surface features, population characteristics and geographical features of the region, strategic importance in the Arab world, knowledge of the multiplicity of climatic and vegetation regions and their distribution on the map

Intended learning outcomes

The student will acquire knowledge and skills after passing this course

It determines the location of the Arab world and shows its borders, and gets acquainted with the geological structure and historical development of the Arab world, and distinguishes between the general surface features of mountains, plateaus and plains, then draws a map on which its topography is distributed, and distinguishes the elements of the climate and compares them and determines the importance of each element and its overlap in the other element, explains the concept of soil It shows their types and draws a map of the geographical distribution of the soil of the Arab world, traces the concept of natural plants, determines their importance and the factors affecting them, and is able to draw a map on which the natural plants are distributed. He mentions the population of the Arab world and the formation dynasties. He draws a map of their geographical distribution, distinguishes between the different economic activities. He deduces the importance of economic activity in the political weight of the Arab world, and shows the challenges facing the Arab world.

- Soil, its types and geographical distribution, the seventh week

Midterm exam week eight

- Natural plants and factors affecting the distribution of natural plants, the ninth week

- Types of natural plants, the tenth week

- Population of the Arab World (Introduction, Dynastic Formation) Eleventh Week

Geographical distribution of the population of the twelfth week

- Economic activity (agriculture, industrial, plant and animal resources) the thirteenth week

- The challenges facing the Arab world, the fourteenth week

- Discussion of research papers, the fifteenth week

Final exam sixteenth week
