Transport geography is that branch
of geography that is concerned with the study of the geographical distribution
of roads and their relationship to geography in terms of distribution and the
economic, political and social effects of transport in addition to the role of
means of transport in benefiting from the natural and human resources enjoyed
by countries. And to identify the most important roads and paths followed by
means of transport between continents .
Intended learning outcomes
After passing this course,
the student will acquire knowledge and skills represented in the knowledge of
transportation methods used by railways and cars, in addition to pipe
transportation and wire transportation. And the importance of river transport,
sea transport and air transport. Learn the structure of the transport sector
and the trends of transporting crude oil by sea. Shows the sources of water
resources in the continents, their patterns, and the most important means of
transportation used in them, the role of economic and social activity in
determining the role of appropriate means of transportation in that. It
analyzes the natural factors affecting the distribution of roads and means of
transportation
