Tourism geography is one of the
branches of contemporary human geography that is concerned with studying the
development of tourism movement and the factors affecting it, the distribution
of tourism demand and supply areas on the world map, the geographical factors
affecting the movement of transport, and the geographical motives for tourism
and travel. The study of this course includes an overview of the geography of
tourism and its concept, types and factors. Influencing it and its future
prospects, and aims to provide students with knowledge and skills in how
society can benefit from the existing tourism potentials, whether natural or
human.
Intended learning outcomes
After completing the study of this
course, the student will be able to familiarize himself with knowledge,
theoretical concepts, and specialized terminology in tourism work and guidance,
review the natural and human tourism potentials in the country, present
scientific research in antiquities in an innovative and objective manner, and
propose appropriate solutions that confront the tourism sector with a
scientific methodology, and devise plans And programs to lead incoming and
domestic tourist groups to tourist offers before implementing them, and employs
his skills in the use of various tourist maps in the world in general and Libya
in particular, and uses the geographic information systems program to classify
the types of tourism present in Libya and the methods of optimal exploitation
of them, and deals competently with the information network through the
provision of services institutions operating in the tourism sector in the
country.
